Focus on the good fats E-mail

Women I train tend to be extremely hard on themselves when it comes consuming fat.  Many of us assume that all fats are the cause for weight gain.  When really the right type of fat is an essential part of a healthy diet.  We need good fats to provide our bodies with energy and fats to protect our organs.  We need these essential fatty acids as they provide vital building blocks for all cell membranes and are necessary for a healthy cardiovascular system. Essential fatty acids such as Omega-3 and Omega-6 are important for proper bodily function.  Good sources for these fatty acids are found in salmon, sardines or tuna, flaxseed and flaxseed oil, nuts and seeds, avocados and soy.

If you remember this then maybe you can take a little pressure off yourself. It's all about balance. Just try to avoid the saturated fats and trans fatty acids (trans fats) that tend to contribute to weight gain and risk of heart disease.
